Hi, everyone! I’m Jiangquan Dai, a soon-to-be graduate from the University of Victoria, specializing in Financial Mathematics and Economics. My journey from a modest student to a Business Analyst is as exciting as a roller-coaster ride.

In school time, I dived into the enthralling realms of Financial Economics, Corporate Finance, and a myriad of mathematical and programming modules that make my resume resemble a secret code only discernible to the financially enlightened.

In my Co-op work term, I managed to squeeze in an exhilarating stint as a Business Analyst at Aroundsquare Ltd. Picture this: me, huddled over spreadsheets, extracting data from Shopify and QuickBooks with the finesse of a cat burglar, and forecasting sales trends.

But wait, there’s more! I was a research assistant of Professor Junlin Ma (University of Victoria, Mathematics department), I participated in a research project with him that merged the worlds of 3D Time Series Visualization with infectious disease propagation – all mapped onto a 2D plane. It’s like giving a pair of X-ray glasses to scrutinize the geographical spread of diseases over time. With Python and R as my trusty steeds, I ventured forth into realms of data unseen, unraveling narratives hidden within the numbers, making the invisible, visible.

Outside the bustling world of financial formulas and data analytics, I morph into an avid traveler, ski enthusiast, and a Texas Hold’em aficionado. Whether it’s gliding down the snowy slopes, traversing through diverse landscapes, or calculating the odds of a royal flush, each experience is a lesson learned, a story etched in the sands of time.
